We Come, He accepts: Belonging

"All those the Father gives Me will come to Me, and whoever comes to Me I will never drive away." John 6:37

Belonging.  Acceptance. Open arms. God wants us to feel this from Him, and give it to others. Friends, cousins, aunts, step-families, in-laws, all were welcome guests in my home. It didn't matter that many guests were no longer officially family to my mom who had long been divorced from my Dad. Family is family, and they were all welcomed in. This spirit of love and belonging has followed me into adulthood. It is my joy to make people feel like they are special and that they belong.

So it was quite natural that when I became a Pastor's wife, I would welcome people into my presence as if they were my own family.  In some ways, it has not been hard to fill the seemingly daunting role of being a Pastor's wife. (In other ways there are certainly challenges).  I've embraced my own style of what that looks like, and the core of it is to create a sense of belonging when people enter my presence. The same belonging I feel when I'm in the presence of God.

I can give this love, because I feel this love from God. I know that He welcomes me in. He will never reject me. His love is everlasting, never-failing, and amazingly abundant. It is my desire that those who profess to believe in Christ, will walk in this way, for this is the true core of the magnetizing effect of His supernatural power.
