Enduring to the End

"The one who endures to the end will be saved." Matt 24:13

Jesus was 30 years old before He began His public ministry. He was probably eager to began, but He was patient. Moment by moment, minute by minute, day by day, he kept His eyes on the mark. He saw what was before Him and that He needed to only endure to the end of his life here in earth. At that point, His earthly mission would be fulfilled. Not for one instance did He lose sight of His purpose. That purpose gave Him power to endure to the end.

Just as it is with Him, so it ought to be with us. Moment by moment, minute by minute, hour by hour, day by day, we are to keep our eyes on our mission, whatever it may be. Perhaps whatever that is shifts day by day. What is the mission and focus for me? In the short term sometimes it just surviving the day. Sometimes the win is getting to the end of the day without feeling emotionally drained. Sometimes the mission is to just abide with Jesus. Today, I practiced consistently bringing my thoughts back to God's presence abiding with me. When I felt overwhelmed, I directed my mind to embrace God's presence, guidance, and help. I chose to endure during that moment, keep my eyes fixed on Him.

As I endure, I remember that greater is He that is in me than He that is in the world.  I remember many other precious promises that nurture my heart. I am upheld by Him. His mounts me up with wings like an eagle. He is forever with me and I trust that His help with uphold me in my endurance.

In spite of the weariness. God is with me to the end. I will choose to trust and fix my eyes on Him. I am thankful and grateful for all that He is to me. As I endure, He abides.
