Reflections on Wisdom

"The Lord gives me wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding." (Proverbs 2:6)

Oh how I want to receive the wisdom from God. Why does it seem so elusive to obtain His wisdom? I don't know, but it doesn't have to be this way.  My prayer is that I and my children and all of my loved ones would come to know wisdom. Here some scriptural insights regarding wisdom.

Proverbs 8:10,11,

How do we obtain wisdom?

"The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy one is understanding." Proverbs 9:10

"The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction." (Proverbs 1:7)

"...Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom, and to depart from evil is understanding." Job 28:28

"The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; A good understanding have all those who do His commandments. His praise endures forever."  (Psalms 111:10)

"The fear of the Lord is to hate evil; pride and arrogance and the evil way and the perverse mouth I hate." Proverbs 8:13

"In Mercy and truth atonement is provided for iniquity; and by the fear of the Lord one departs from evil." (Proverbs 16:6)

"A wise man fears and departs from evil, but a fool rages and is self-confident." Proverbs 14:16
