"I am with you and will rescue you," declares the Lord. (Jeremiah 1:8)
Jeremiah was a young person when God called Him to be a prophet. He was insecure, fearful, and not convinced that he would be capable of speaking to the people. God encouraged Him not to belittle himself by saying that He was just a youth. He told Jeremiah that He would go with him wherever he was sent to. Then God told him to not be afraid of their faces, "I am with you and will rescue you..."
Most days, I feel insecure, fearful and incapable of doing even the most basic things required for an organized wife and homeshooling parent. Sometimes I know what is required but I'm scared just like Jeremiah. God spoke so lovingly to Jeremiah and assured Him that He would be with Him. I want to believe that just like for Jeremiah, God will be there to rescue me as well. Jeremiah was promised deliverance from people that he may be afraid of. I desire deliverance from internal fears that stall my character growth.
The sooner I can embrace that God will in fact be beside me in all the challenges I face or uncomfortable confrontations I have to make, the sooner I can receive blessings of peace and security in Him. I'll embrace a true sense of calm of knowing that I am walking in the way He has called me to walk. Speaking the things that He has called me to speak on.
I trust that He will be with me and rescue me. I trust that insecurity, fearfulness, and lack of confidence will be replaced with security, courage, and confidence. I accept these things right now. For all of these things I am grateful.
